The Bude Motor Classic 2012

THE FREE CLASSIC CAR EVENT in the Southwest

Sunday 10thJune

Make a note in your diary!

Bude Motor Club will be holding its 3rd Classic Motor Show at the Rugby Ground in the centre of Bude on Sunday 10thJune 2012.

This year our Show will again be totally FREE to all entrants and visitors alike - yet another recession busting treat for all classic car enthusiasts in the South West and beyond!

Entries are invited from all interested parties, including clubs and individuals.

Vehicles (and visitors!!) of all types, age and condition are most welcome!

(Cars, Motorcycles, Steam vehicles, Commercials etc.)

The show site has full bar and food facilities. It is superbly situated next to the River Neet, close to Bude town centre, the historic Bude Canal, the Castle and the fabulous beaches.

Instead of sending out entry forms to those who would like to attend the show with their vehicle, we have decided to hand out the forms on arrival for completion on the day.

It would be useful if you can email us with your intention to attend, and what vehicle(s) you are showing. If you are coming as a group and wish to exhibit your vehicles together, please let us know and we will allocate a space large enough for your needs.

We have plenty of room so just show up!

Any interested trade parties please contact us at the above email address.

Once again, any monies raised during the event, by collections, donations and bring and buy sales etc. will be donated to our chosen charity for 2012:

Little Rays Of Sunshine (Bude)

Further details will be published on our website shortly

 'Bude Motor Classic'

6th June, 2010

The second Bude Motor Classic show took place on Sunday 6th June 2010.

A considerable amount of planning and organisation by the event team culminated in a superb day. The decision to re-locate into Bude paid off , with the Bude Rugby Club proving an ideal venue, being central with lots of space for displaying the cars and of course the facilities of the Clubhouse. The Rugby Club provided food throughout the day, the Bar was open and we were entertained by the appropriately named band 'Roadkill'.

Members and visitors mingled in the summer sunshine, looking at the assembled cars and 'talking motors'. The weather was kind to us without being too hot!

Attendance was excellent with over one hundred and twenty vehicles.   Austins, Morrises and Fords rubbed shoulders with Bentleys, Rolls-Royces and Ferraris! In addition we saw five motorcycles, two agricultural tractors and a racing car. The age spectrum was diverse, from vintage to contemporary, and included a brand-new supercar. Trophies were awarded to selected cars in two age categories.

The second Bude Motor Classic was billed as a free event and indeed there was no charge for exhibitors or visitors, but collecting buckets were at hand for the Cornwall Air Ambulance and monies raised will be put towards our donation to that charity later in the year.

The event attracted individual enthusiasts and motor clubs from far and wide, many of whom were very complimentary about the show. Visitors were met by the Club Gazebo, in front of the clubhouse, which looked very impressive with its new Club name sign in blue, set off with a red Club badge at either end.

In the gazebo there were boards with photographs illustrating our Club's history as well as items from the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Our Club did itself proud. Apart from the organising team, members helped with the setting up and dismantling, as well as acting as marshals during the day and clearing up at the end, making the whole thing run smoothly.

All in all an excellent and memorable day! Our thanks must go to the organising team, Club Members who helped out and everyone for attending, enjoying and supporting it!
